the sodium lights - love at your expense (i`m awake)
l`m Awake. I`m awake and lonely as sunday ever gets I let you sleep then help myself to your last cigarette Through rings of smoke my memories shimmer and glide above this old kitchen table I can see our whole life How we met in that strange hotel how your hand fell/vanished into mine from my room we`d hear the ocean and watch the surf roll across our eyes There you were my pillow in the dark and there I soaked up all of your lies later your smile became invisible to me just like the world outside I`m awake for what seems like the first time in a while I`ll leave you to sleep as my bed wont be yours by tonight As I began losing your flavour everyday more, bitter taste by taste enclosed like a fever I became a hostage to my own mistake You`d spend away my money like it was only ever yours to spend you lost your style in those lines of thunder and too lost to see when that white line ends I`m awake and letting the coffee rattlesnake through my veins you`re still asleep it`s 8a.m and I`m ready for the change Everything`s clearer than glass now what`s left of this cheap cut of life and I pray that it shatters you to pieces just like a desert train crash in the night AI want it all to tear you apart to make each and every last regret seem real and punch a hole through your shitty grey heart make you almost see how i feel `Cause I`m sick of being some waiter sick of being your placebo maid sick of feeling so numb in myself and sick of myself for being used this way Sick of ...
